One Little Word

"A single word can be a powerful thing. It can be the ripple in the pond that changes everything. It can be sharp and biting or rich and soft and slow." ~ Ali Edwards

While checking Ali Edwards' scrapbooking blog, (this is the woman who inspired the whole December Daily thing I participated in) I discovered something really cool. There is a concept called "One Little Word." It's not really a project or a scrapbook thing - though plenty of people scrapbooking stuff around it. It's more of an idea. Something to focus on throughout the year. Basically, you pick a word - something you can focus on, meditate on, and reflect upon on a daily basis. Ali describes it best on her blog:

"It can be something tangible or intangible. It could be a thought or a feeling or an emotion. It can be singular or plural. The key is to find something that has personal meaning for you. This is not your mother’s word or your spouse’s word or your child’s word – this is YOUR word.
And what do you do with this one little word?
You live with it. You invite it into you life. You let it speak to you. You might even follow where it leads. There are so many possibilities."

I thought this was a really cool idea. So here's my word for 2011:

Courageous.

Do you have a word? It can be any word - noun, adjective, verb, whatever. As long as it's personal to YOU. If you check out Ali's blog she has a word cloud of all the words other people have chosen - it's pretty interesting.

So tell me - what's your word for 2011?
